Ray Jay is scheduled to host its third Super Bowl in 2021, while the United States football team has played two international games at the venue and it was also the setting for England’s crowning moment in the recent She Believes Cup.
But according to the Tampa Bay Sports Commission’s executive director, Rob Higgins, the arrival of WrestleMania marks a new high for the Florida City, which has been chasing the event for a decade.
“I would say it’s probably the biggest event that we haven’t had the opportunity to host yet,” Higgins told the Tampa Bay Times. “So this is why this is such an incredible announcement for our hometown.”
